Winter Time

At this time of year when Winter is in it's all time glory and the Holidays are over, I tend to become depressed as it seems Winter is the longest of all seasons. In reality, it's 3 months long just like the other seasons. I supposed finding enjoyable things to do is the trick here so I do the things I like to do INDOORS, for instance; listening to music is an all time favorite past time for me. I love country music but I enjoy soft rock and some opera. I love to listen to Tim McGraw, Toby Keith or Alan Jackson but at the same time, I like to relax to Il Divo or Andrea Bocelli.  Also I enjoy some tv programs. With all the junk that's on tv today.......there are still a few shows I hate to miss.  I got hooked on Daytime's "Days Of Our Lives" , "Grey's Anatomy", "Private Practice" and "The Dog Whisperer"  Now there's a show I'll tape if I think I'm going to miss it.  There's noone like Cesar Milan, in my opinion, who can help you become a 'pack leader' with your dog or dogs in my case.  I listen to him, intently, and try some of his techniques, you know....they work as long as I can be patient and consistent.  Which are two things in my life that I'm working on very hard!

Some of my projects are scrapbooking, cross-stitching, crocheting and reading.  My biggest problem is trying to finish these projects. I started so many and never really finish anything.  This Winter I'm going to make a pact with myself to finish, at least, two of those projects before Winter is over.  Right now I'm reading "Saffron Skies" by Lesley Lokko.  It's a very interesting saga. It's about 600 pages and 106 chapters.  I think I'm on page 400 and something as I type this.  As far as scrapbooking, I've started a small album of my Yorkshire Terriers, now I'm thinking......maybe less is better with scrapbooking.  I tend to put too much on a page.  I'm learning.....
I promised myself a few years back that I'd learn how to quilt and bought some beginner books on the subject but didn't start that project YET!

The next holiday is Valentine's Day!  Ahhhhh the time of year for lovers, cupid and all that.  I love to hurry Winter time a bit by thinking ahead! As for now, I'll stay content in my warm and cozy little house with my two adorable yorkies, Lacy and Spike!
